Free driver training for older drivers

Free driver training for older drivers

Free training sessions are being offered to drivers aged 65 and over who want to brush up on their skills behind the wheel.

The training is being provided by the East Lincolnshire Community Safety Partnership and the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership as part of efforts to encourage drivers to keep up to date with changes in legislation, modern technology and good driving practice.

The programme focuses on all aspects of driving, including the law, health and safety, personal safety, in-car technology and medical issues. The training can also increase the confidence of drivers to help improve their decision making when on the road and reduce the number of accidents.

100 places are available on the course and they will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The sessions take place at the following locations:

  • Horncastle College on November 11, 2010.
  • Mablethorpe Business Centre on November 18, 2010 and January 25, 2011.
  • Skegness Business Centre on November 24, 2010 January 17, 2011.
  • Louth Fairfield Enterprise Centre: November 26, 2010 and February 8, 2011
